Fred MacMurray
Fred MacMurray had one of the longest and strangest careers in Hollywood. He was a light comedy leading man through the 1930s and 1940s, and then gave one of the most chilling performances in American cinema as the insurance salesman Walter Neff in Billy Wilder’s Double Indemnity in 1944.
He later became a Disney fixture — The Shaggy Dog, The Absent-Minded Professor — and anchored the sitcom My Three Sons for twelve seasons. He was also, famously, one of the shrewdest investors in Hollywood.
June Haver
Her mother June Haver was a musical star at 20th Century Fox, groomed by the studio as a successor to Betty Grable. She walked away from the career — briefly entering a convent before leaving it — and married Fred MacMurray in 1954, his second marriage.
